Hiring Professional Movers Can Prevent Accidents & Mitigate Costs

I came across this article while surfing the web. In this current economic environment it may be tempting to cut costs on a move by either performing the move yourself or hiring an unlicensed mover. However in most situations you've saved little or no money and in fact may have overpaid.

Many consumers may be tempted to perform the move themselves thinking they will save money by not using a professional moving company. However if that consumer hires a moving rental truck and provides the labor to load and unload the truck they haven't saved much of anything. Figure in the cost of the rental truck (fee's, taxes, gas price, etc.) and the cost of their labor (time, risk of injury, etc.) in most cases they haven't saved a dime.

If you are thinking of moving then you owe to yourself to get a free moving estimate from a licensed professional moving company.

I need to sleep at night

In the everyday battle to survive in this industry there is always the temptation to cut corners. It's no different in any other industry. Look what happened in the financial industry in the years leading up to the financial collapse of 2008/2009. Banks cut their lending standards which lead to their making loans to unqualified borrowers. The rating agencies, unable to properly analyze mortgage securities, simply rubber stamped them with AAA ratings despite the fact that many were junk. On and on it goes. I came across this article in the New York Times regarding a local Long Island and New York City moving company. It reminded me that if you provide honest prices and services although you may lose short-term business in the long term, at a minimum, you can sleep well at night.
